About this course

This course is for anyone looking to become a Patient Care Tech. We will go over everything you need to know as a Medical Assistant. With this course, all students, who successfully pass the course, will be eligible to take the National Certification Exam. Students will complete all required clinical virtually utilizing SIMTICS virtual simulation modules.

Learn about the responsibilities and duties of a Patient Care Tech.

2. The Patient

Learn the basics of assisting a patient in their time of need.

3. Safety

This topic will discuss how to protect both yourself and your patient in the medical field. This can include moving a patient, performing skills, and more.

4. Patient Assessment

You will learn how to perform an appropriate assessment with of the patient including obtaining a blood pressure, checking for pulse, and more!

5. Patient Care and Comfort

Learn how to properly care for a patient, ensure they are comfortable, and more.

6. Blood and Specimen Collecting and Testing

Learn how to collect blood and other specimen. Students will learn the basics of Phlebotomy.
